Siltech Stabilizator

An inoculant (bacterial silaging agent) for making whole maize plant silages. 100% Lactobacillus buchneri. High bacterial count: 3×1011 CFU/g

Description

A specialist bacterial inoculant for making whole maize plant silages. It is designated for companies specialising in milk production. It contains only highly concentrated heterofermentative bacteria, Lactobacillus buchneri, the most effective in silaging whole maize plants.

SILTECH STABILIZATOR delays the process of maize silage heating up after its removal from a heap or silo. The strain of lactic acid fermentation bacterium, Lactobacillus buchneri, can synthesise 1,2-propandiol, propionic acid and acetic acid – compounds inhibiting mould and yeast growth in silage. Studies show that silages produced with agents containing high levels of  Lactobacillus buchneri have higher energy value.

The use of silaging formulations containing Lactobacillus buchneri:

  • Reduces a risk of silage spoiling.
  • Inhibits mould and yeast growth in silage.
  • Increases aerobic stability of silage.
  • Increases energy content in silage – Lactobacillus buchneri species produces an energy compound, polypropylene glycol.

Bacteria:

  • Lactobacillus buchneri.
  • Total bacterial count: 3x1011 11 CFU/g

Available packs: 100 g /100–150 tonnes of silage.

  • Maize - whole plants: l00 g/100–150 tonnes of silaged material.
  • Green fodder made of grasses, alfalfa, or other legumes: 100 g/100 tonnes of silaged material.

Siltech Stabilizator can be combined with Siltech, to introduce larger quantities of lactic acid fermentation bacteria into silaged material, while maintaining high concentration of Lactobacillus buchnetri at the rate of:

1x Siltech Stabilizator l00 g/100 tonnes + 2x Siltech 100 g/50 tonnes =the total dose of 200 tonnes of silaged material.

Powdered formulation to be applied as a water solution in a quantity of 100 g of the formulation per 10-50 litres of pure water. The volume of water used depends on the applicator capacity and a method for introducing bacterial solution. Apply with an applicator installed on the harvesting equipment or spray layers formed on a heap or in a silo. The formulation effectiveness depends, among others, on uniform spreading of the working solution in the silaged material. The working solution can be stored for 24 hours, and for up to 48 hours in cold storage.

Recommendations for silaging whole maize plants:

  • Dry matter: 35%.
  • Minimum period of silaging: 6-8 weeks.
