Description
A specialist bacterial inoculant for making whole maize plant silages. It is designated for companies specialising in milk production. It contains only highly concentrated heterofermentative bacteria, Lactobacillus buchneri, the most effective in silaging whole maize plants.
SILTECH STABILIZATOR delays the process of maize silage heating up after its removal from a heap or silo. The strain of lactic acid fermentation bacterium, Lactobacillus buchneri, can synthesise 1,2-propandiol, propionic acid and acetic acid – compounds inhibiting mould and yeast growth in silage. Studies show that silages produced with agents containing high levels of Lactobacillus buchneri have higher energy value.
The use of silaging formulations containing Lactobacillus buchneri:
- Reduces a risk of silage spoiling.
- Inhibits mould and yeast growth in silage.
- Increases aerobic stability of silage.
- Increases energy content in silage – Lactobacillus buchneri species produces an energy compound, polypropylene glycol.
