Siltech Protect

Two-component bacterial and chemical formulation for production of silage of grass, alfalfa, mixes of grass and alfalfa or clover, maize (grain, CCM, and LKS).

Description

Siltech Protect is a two-component bacterial and chemical formulation for production of silage. Siltech Protect contains 5 species of lactic acid fermentation bacteria at high concentration and 2 fungicidal preservatives, increasing silage stability. The product orients and accelerates silaging, and reduces nutrient losses. It also inhibits growth of yeasts, moulds, putrefying bacteria, and Clostridia bacteria. It contains Lactobacillus buchneri – a fungicidal bacterium that produces an energy compound, propylene glycol. It also inhibit alcoholic fermentation in maize silage. The formulation improves aerobic stability of produced silage and reduces a risk of its secondary fermentation, so-called “heating up” of silage in a silo or on a feed table.

Bacteria 0.1 kg: lactic acid fermentation bacteria at 3x1011 CFU/g:

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum,
Pediococcus acidilactici,
Enterococcus lactis,
Lactobacillus buchneri,
Lactobacillus brevis.

In a dose for 50 tonnes, the bacterial count per 1 g of silaged material amounts to 600 thousand CFU. Form: powder to be dissolved in water.

2 x preservative 2.5 kg of potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate. Form: granulate to be dissolved in water.

  • Alfalfa, maize grain, CCM, maize cobs with husk: 50–75 tonnes of silaged material.
  • Grasses, mixes of grass with alfalfa or clover, maize - whole plants, green rye fodder, beet pulp, brewers' grains, whole plant silage mixes: 100 tonnes of silaged material.
  • Other material: needs to be determined, taking into account the level of silaging difficulty, material quality, and weather conditions: 50–75 tonnes of silaged material.

Preparing of the working solution:

  1. First, pour entire contents of 2 packages of KONSERWANT 2.5 kg into 50–100 litres of water, and mix thoroughly until the ingredients are completely dissolved. Adapt the water volume to the applicator capacity and a method for spreading the working solution in the silaged material.
  2. Then, pour entire contents of BAKTERIE 0.1 kg into the solution of 2 x KONSERWANT 2.5 kg, and mix until the ingredients are completely dissolved.
  3. The water used for the working solution must be clean, from an intake, of the temperature not exceeding 25°C. Apply using an applicator installed on the harvesting equipment or spray layers formed on a heap or in a silo The formulation effectiveness depends, among others, on uniform spreading of the working solution in the silaged material. The working solution can be stored for 24 hours, and for up to 48 hours in cold storage.
